Maurice Holmes Jr. and Efrain Pontaza 2008
Animals are made up of many cells. Animal cells have a nucleus and specialized structures inside the cells called organelles. Animals depend on other organisms in the environment for food. Some eat plants, some eat other animals, and others eat both. Animals digest their food. Many animals move from place to place. They can escape from their enemies and find food, mates, and places to live. All animals are capable of reproducing sexually. Some can also reproduce asexually. Herbivores eat only plants. Carnivores eat only meat and flesh. Omnivores eat both meat and plants.
